Each Spring, all students in grades 3rd-8th and juniors are administered the M-Step test, which is an assessment designed to gauge how well students are mastering state standards.

Students are tested in English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science, and Social Studies.  The 2022 Spring scores are here, and we're happy to announce that our scores are the BEST IN THE REGION!!  Of the 20 tests administered to students around the region, LCCS placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in 15 of those tests!  To say the LCCS staff and students did a great job, may be an understatement.  Here is a quick breakdown, and a special recognition to the teachers (reminder that not all teachers educate in content areas that are M-Step) that made this happen!

The following ranked 1st in the region!

  • Grade 4 ELA (Mrs. Smith)
  • Grade 5 ELA, Math, and Science (Mrs. Norkus)
  • Grade 6 Math (Mrs. Derenzy)
  • Grade 8 Social Studies (Mr. Barr)
  • Grade 11 Social Studies (Mrs. Storey)

The following ranked 2nd in the region!

  • Grade 8 EBRW (Evidence Based Reading and Writing - Mr. Wilson)
  • Grade 4 Math (Mrs. Smith)
  • Grade 8 Science (Mr. Mast)

The following ranked 3rd in the region!

  • Grade 3 Math (Mrs. Schaedig)
  • Grade 11 Science (Mr. Mast)
  • Grade 11 EBRW (Ms. Bachand)
  • Grade 7 ELA (Mr. Wilson)
  • Grade 6 ELA (Mr. Wilson)

The entire staff at LCCS plays a part in this success!  It takes a special group of individuals to perform at a level that can make the community proud!  These scores are extremely impressive, but it's just a snippet of what makes our school the best!

Please share this post to give the LCCS staff and students the recognition that they deserve!
