Career & Technical Education (CTE) is key to preparing students for careers in the boating and marine industry. From marine mechanics and boat manufacturing to navigation and marine technology, CTE provides hands-on training that leads directly to high-demand jobs on the water.
With the Great Lakes and numerous waterways in our backyard, skilled marine professionals are more important than ever. We are excited to offer this opportunity to our students at LCCS in partnership with Great Lakes Boat Building School!
Last fall, Tassier Boat Works donated a 200-horsepower Chrysler V8 marine engine to the class, though it wasn’t running properly. Students have been hard at work rebuilding it and plan to fire it up outside this spring! But first, they had to get it off the forklift and into the school.
Students also completed work on their StarCraft project, installing a new fuel-injected, 60-horsepower Suzuki outboard engine and handling all the rigging and wiring themselves.
